Global Patient Safety Challenge launch
The ever increasing incidence of adverse events in health care has led to the emergence of an international drive to create a "culture of safety". The fifty-fifth World Health Assembly in 2002 adopted a resolution urging countries to pay the closest possible attention to the problem of patient safety, and strengthen safety and monitoring systems. The resolution requested WHO to take a lead in building global norms and standards and supporting country efforts in developing patient safety policies and practice.
Mondofragilis network is honoured to have been selected to produce the elements of the Global Patient Safety Challenge launch. This includes printed materials, videos, photography and a 'show and tell' event with children from a local school.
This is not the first time that mondofragilis network is involved in patient safety. Several years back, we helped a French company, BTR, to launch a unique hospital meal heating system designed to reduced nosocomial infection.
The very first bit of output for the event is a label to be affixed on several hundred thousand alcohol-solution bottles designed to be used by hospital staff. This label is being designed in close cooperation with Dr. Didier Pittet of the Geneva University hospital group.
