messaggio at Mipcom 2005

This year, messaggio presents three sets of projects, all related to AIDS : a 52-minute documentary featuring the efforts of 40 African First Ladies' fight against the pandemic and a total of six World AIDS Campaign and Global Movement for Children public service announcements.

"40 First Ladies"

40 African First Ladies have embarked on a unique venture: to join forces and launch a united, continent-wide campaign to stop new infections among children by getting adults to “treat every child as their own”. The documentary starts with the campaign launch in New York, with the participation of First Lady Laura Bush, UNAIDS’ Executive Director Peter Piot and entertainer Alicia Keys. It then embarks on a tour of Africa revealing both the First Ladies’ grassroots projects and the harsher realities of sexual abuse and being orphaned by AIDS.
