November 2010 saw the World Social Security Forum in Cape Town, lead by the International Social Security Association.  messaggio studios were pleased to produce a short form film, screened at the opening ceremony presenting an introduction to social security as a fundamental right, and a factor of social stability and sustainable economic development. messaggio were responsible for securing actor Kiefer Sutherland as a narrator.

February 2nd marks World Wetlands Day. For the second time, messaggio studios are proud to have designed the visual identity of this international day, in this year which also marking the 40th anniversary of the Ramsar Convention, and the  International Year of Forests.

Meet Priscille, one of messaggio studios' creative team. Priscille Latchman, grew up between La Réunion, mainland France and Canada. After years of flying, she still likes to have her head in the clouds. 

messaggio studios has the privilege of hosting several major civil society web sites that deal with HIV and AIDS. This means that every year, from about 29 November to 2 December, the traffic surge is impressive. How did the team do this year?

The Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights,  OHCHR selected to work with messaggio to create the visual identity and campaign tools to mark Human Rights Day 2010.Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on 10 December. It commemorates the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

ICEM - the International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions - came to us in 2009. They needed design and printing publications to further their message about the importance of safer mines. The recent disaster - and rescue - in Chile has brought this critical cause to the public eye.

The purpose of World Post Day is to create awareness of the role of the postal sector in people’s and businesses’ everyday lives and its contribution to the social and economic development of countries. All over the world we rely on postal services for personal correspondence, but also for business deliveries and transactions, daily. 

At today’s closing ceremony of the World Urban Forum in Rio de Janeiro, in front of tens of thousands of participants, messaggio presented the highly anticipated World Urban Campaign launch video. Visit www.youtube.com/mondofragilis to be one of the first to view the video as conceived, filmed and produced by messaggio.

Building on an active relationship with the Global Unions - including a redesign of the UNI logo by the messaggio team in 2009 and previous film work with ICFTU (now ITUC) - messaggio are happy to be working with two more Global Unions: BWI and PSI.

messaggio studios web team have managed the World YWCA website for 4 years now and were very proud to be asked to take on the challenge of entirely redesigning the site. The redesign includes several new functionalities making it more ergonomic and transforming it into a ‘live’ website. As well as having a new “look” the World YWCA website now includes advanced functions linking related articles by keywords, secure links to make online donations, in addition to a googlemaps feature showing locations of YWCAs worldwide.

Tuesday 17th November marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Basel Convention on the transboundary movement of hazardous wastes and their disposal. With 172 parties across the world, the convention is an almost universal environmental agreement. The celebration will bring together experts to reflect upon the successes of the convention thus far and discuss visions for a cleaner environment. The event will take place in Basel, Switzerland the city that gave its name to the Convention on the occasion of its adoption in 1989.

Our creative team have fine-tuned the logos for mondofragilis group and its three main media, communications and strategy companies: messaggio studios, natura print and otjiwarongo consulting.

There are hundreds of communications-related tradeshows worldwide. Choosing which ones to attend is important so as not to waste time, money or carbon. This year, the messaggio staff, in light of its expanding television activity, chose to travel to Amsterdam to visit the IBC 10 to 15 September 2009.
